Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, founded in 1845, started with a spring, a "brush arbor," and a few noisy Methodists making themselves at home on somebody else's land. That land became a place for Methodist worship.
Worship is the central focus of our congregational life. It is a time when we come together as people of Christ to praise God through word, music, and fellowship, and to renew spiritually for the daily journey of faithful living. We seek to provide a meaningful and relevant worship experience for persons and families of every age and stage in life. We offer a Traditional worship service at 11:00 a.m., a Praise & Worship service at 8:45 a.m., and a multi-sensory contemporary worship service called Higher Ground at 9:00 a.m., and a contemporary G3 service at 10:30 a.m. that meets at Meadowlark Elementary School.. Each of our services is visitor-friendly with a welcoming spirit to visitors. Our goal is to spread the love and grace of God to all.
Our Music Ministry is a vital part of the life of Mt. Tabor. Through its various choirs and instrumental groups, members and friends share their talents in praise and service to Christ's Church.
There are programs and ministry choices to meet the needs of all who come through the doors of Mt. Tabor where caring for others is a full-time commitment. Our faith and lives are strengthened when we join together in worship, service, conversation, celebration, support, and learning as a whole church family.

Higher Ground is a multi-sensory service engaging all 5 senses: You'll be greeted warmly, smell the coffee brewing and enjoy fresh-baked bagels. Visuals are a key element and you'll see video clips from popular movies and YouTube, drama vignettes, and even interpretive dance.
Music is provided by a band that always includes guitars, keyboard and drums, but may also have violin, mandolin, banjo, trumpet, sax or harmonica. Music is specially selected to illustrate the theme and ranges from Jimmy Buffett to Jeremy Camp, including the occasional Barber Shop Quartet - all interpreted through images and lyrics on our screen.

G3 MultiSite
Sunday @ 10:30 a.m. at Meadowlark Elementary School
Welcome to G3 Church: A New faith Community of Mt. Tabor UMC! We are a community of Christ followers who are passionate about seeing people reconnected to God. We believe that God has called all people to; Gather regularly to worship, to Grow in our discipleship, and Go on mission. This is what it means to follow Jesus and we would love for you to join us on this journey. Starting now, you can join a growth group (thinks bible study) that meets once a week in people's homes to get plugged in now!
It is one church body in two or more locations. We have the current location (Mt Tabor UMC off Robinhood Rd) and the new site off Shallowford Rd in Lewisville, NC. It's similar to branches of a bank - same bank but at different locations. It might vary in size, services and look but it is all the same church with the same mission. Studies show that most (around 70-80%) unchurched people will not attend an established church. Demographic data indicates that 60% of people in our immediate area are unchurched. This means that a large percentage of the unchurched will never come to the current location at Mt. Tabor and they will remain outside our reach. This is a small-group based worship that has small groups meeting in homes during the week and a Sunday morning worship service at Forsyth Country Day School. We also offer children's worship and nursery services on Sundays.
