The multi-site will be a small group based extension ministry that will offer a Christ centered worship service that speaks to the unchurched. The service will be held at a different location (school, warehouse, etc) that is inviting to the unchurched. We will not offer a Sunday school program but rather small groups that meet in homes throughout the week.
With the exception of a children's worship service on Sunday morning at the new location, all children's ministry and youth ministry will continue at the current location. As one church at two locations, we will be sharing our staffing as well as our ministry.
The focus will be on reaching the unchurched, not a style of worship that our seed team prefers. We plan to offer a Christ centered worship service that will be relevant to the demographic we are trying to reach.
Matthew 28:18-19 Then Jesus came to them and said...."Therefore go and make disciples of all nations" Our first and foremost calling as Christians is to make disciples or followers of Jesus Christ. This is our calling as members of Mt. Tabor UMC. This is our calling as United Methodists - as people whose denomination began by focusing on this mission. But most of all, it is our calling as those who follow Christ.
