Other Adult Ministry Opportunities

Tabor Troupers (on hold until Re-Entry)

These active seniors come together on the third Monday of every month for a great time of fellowship, lunch, and programs ranging from entertaining to informative.  It’s fun, it’s informative and it’s a low cost way to fellowship with your church family. Troupers begin gathering at 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall unless there is a special program.  The ministry supplies the meal for the low cost of $5.  If you would like your name added to the permanent reservation list please contact the church office. There is always something interesting happening at Tabor Trouper gatherings!

United Methodist Men (on hold until Re-Entry)

United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily His will. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships.

The major concerns are:

  • To encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of The United Methodist Church.

  • To engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions.

  • To clarify and speak to the identity and role of the man in contemporary society.

  • To seek commitment to discipleship

  • To study and become familiar with The United Methodist Church and its organization, doctrines, and beliefs.

  • To cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction, and church-wide goals.

The men of Mount Tabor’s United Methodist Men’s Fellowship subscribe to the “Purpose” of the United Methodist Men and to these personal objectives:

  • Engage daily in Bible study and prayer.

  • Bear witness to Christ’s way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions.

  • Engage in some definite Christian service.

Meeting Schedule:  Mount Tabor’s United Methodist Men’s Fellowship meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall for a delicious full breakfast and program.  We invite you to join us!  Contact Dean Browder for more information.

United Methodist Women

Mount Tabor UMW offers any woman looking for a small group to fellowship and serve with a diverse offering of Circles from which to choose. If you would like to visit one, simply call the contact person listed for details. All are welcoming!

Circle 2

Circle 2 is a loving group of women in our 30s and 40s with a focus on fellowship and serving others. We typically meet at 6:30 PM on the third Thursday of every month, at a circle member’s home or a local restaurant. We also like to switch it up sometimes and do some other kind of social event. As most of our circle members are mothers, our service projects benefit mothers and children in our community. If you are a young(ish) woman looking to connect at church, we are the circle for you!
Contact Stephanie Griffith at 804-310-2480 or griffithfamily04@gmail.com for more details. We are looking forward to meeting you soon!

Circle 4
Do you feel pulled in too many directions yet want to do more for others and grow your faith all the while enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded, Christ-centered women? If sharing fun, fellowship, and faith are what you are seeking, then Circle 4 is the group for you! We are in our late 30’s through early 50’s, and most of us have children that range in age from toddler to teen. We meet the third or fourth Tuesday/Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in a member’s home, the church, or a local restaurant. Between meetings, we use emails to keep everyone connected, allowing our members to stay involved and up to date even when “life” gets in the way. So come when you can; stay as long as you can!
