Andy Burton Memorial Golf Tournament

Andy Burton was an amazing young man with a tremendous passion for life and golf. Andy, his brother, Wesley, and their friend, Ryan Shoaf, were all tragically killed in a car accident in 2002.

To honor the memory of this extraordinary young man, The Andy Burton Memorial Golf Tournament was founded as a way to gather individuals to memorialize Andy and have a wonderful experience playing golf. Your participation in the Captain's Choice Tournament on Saturday, May 9th will certainly be far more than just hitting a ball. The funds raised from this weekend will go to help support the student ministries of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in unimaginable ways.

Over the past 20+ years, the Andy Burton Memorial Golf Tournament has done so much for the community both locally, nationally, and globally. In the past year since the last golf tournament the funds have supported things such as....

• Helping repair 3 different homes in WNC following Hurricane Helene.

• Partnering with 8 different non profits that played vital roles in Hurricane Helene response.

• Help glean over 4,000 pounds of fresh produce and distribute it to our neighbors in Rowan County.

• Help provide food for a week for a family of 7 following the loss of their newborn child.

• Helped provide apparel for our friends experiencing homelessness for the winter.

• Guarantee that money is not a barrier for any child/family in our youth group.

And so much more! Because of the generous donations, support, and prayer that goes into this tournament, the life and legacy of Andy continues to live on in the youth group, in Forsyth county, in the state, and even the world. Tangible differences are made in the lives of many through the support given to this tournament. 

$75 per player if you register prior to May 1st. $85 for any registrations May 1st and beyond.
$10 trash package (it includes 2 mulligans, driving from the red tee, and a throw).
