Adult Ministry

Mount Tabor offers a number of small group options for men including United Methodist Men and a Band of Brothers (B.O.B).

United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily His will. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships.

The major concerns are:

  • To encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of The United Methodist Church.

  • To engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions.

  • To clarify and speak to the identity and role of the man in contemporary society.

  • To seek commitment to discipleship

  • To study and become familiar with The United Methodist Church and its organization, doctrines, and beliefs.

  • To cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction, and church-wide goals.

The men of Mount Tabor’s United Methodist Men’s Fellowship subscribe to the “Purpose” of the United Methodist Men and to these personal objectives:

  • Engage daily in Bible study and prayer.

  • Bear witness to Christ’s way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions.

  • Engage in some definite Christian service.

Mount Tabor’s United Methodist Men’s Fellowship meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall for a delicious full breakfast and program.  We invite you to join us!  Contact Dean Browder at for more information.

Band of Brothers (B.O.B.)

Our Mission: To Encourage, Equip, and Empower men in Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose:

  • To learn first hand about our personal relationship with God

  • To link together with other men in supportive relationships

  • To live as spiritual examples in our homes

  • To lead as servant leaders in our church home

  • To love and to lead others, in our community and workplace, to Jesus Christ

B.O.B. meets in person in Room 306 and via zoom at 7:00 AM on Thursdays, except during the holidays.  Our meetings last about an hour as we have breakfast, a short group gathering/teaching, and then break into small groups for discussion and prayer time.
