About Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church

Mt. Tabor is a United Methodist Community of Faith. It is a part of the Winston-Salem District of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference .  We have approximately 2100 members, four dynamic worship services, and ministries for persons of all ages. Mt. Tabor has been a part of the landscape of Winston-Salem since 1845 and has deep roots in the United Methodist Church. We seek to enable all who enter the doors of the church to "GATHER joyfully, GROW spiritually, and GO faithfully to share God's Word both in Love and Action."

United Methodist Church

A Word from Earl

Welcome to our website.  Mt. Tabor is a family-friendly church with a goal to provide ministry to people of all ages and stages of life.  Our mission statement is founded on Christ's Great Commission to his first disciples, "Go and make disciples..."   We are called to Gather Joyfully, Grow Spiritually, and Go Faithfully to share God's word in both Love and Action.

As people of the United Methodist Church, we believe in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  We live by two kinds of holiness:  personal and social.  We follow three simple rules:  do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.  And, we work in four areas of focus:  developing leaders, creating places for new people, eliminating poverty, and improving health globally.

We seek to provide creative opportunities to help children, teens and adults connect with God, the church, each other, the community and the world through missions and outreach.  We are the gathered Body of Christ.

Joy and Peace,
Pastor Earl
